So far, my favorite place on campus is…. Definitely the Starbucks in southwest, I’ve spent way too many tiger swipes there! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I would leave all my worries behind me, travel to any island in the Caribbean, and lay out on the beach for a week straight! Maybe get a few massages or facials on the beach too because why not? By the time you graduate from Mizzou, what are you hoping to accomplish? I’m ready to have my degree-- in a fun subject—with five awesome job offers to choose from! I definitely also want to have found all my sisters-from-other-misters that I can have with me throughout the rest of my life. Maybe I could also have watched every single TV show offered on Netflix (it could be a good conversation starter??) Also I’m dying to get on the roof of Jesse hall… idk why but that seems fun hahah Next on my watching list is… either Breaking Bad, the 3rd season of Narcos, or Westworld again What will you miss most while being away from home? My car or my 5 chickens!!! What is your biggest guilty pleasure? Game of thrones for sure

Tell us about your childhood/where you grew up.

I grew up in Holland, Michigan right on Lake Michigan.

Why did you come to Mizzou?

I came to Mizzou to study journalism and strategic communication.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love to watch sunsets, meet new people, and discover new music in my free time.

Theta is…

My home away from home :)

When I grow up I want to…

Make sure I’ve made a positive impact on my community.

The best friends are…

Encouraging and supportive.

Name: Bailey Murphy

Hometown: Lee's Summit, Missouri

Major: Computer Science

So far, my favorite place on campus is…. My dorm bed. I think it’s comfier than my bed back home, honestly.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Either Ireland, because I’m Irish, or Spain, so my four years of Spanish classes in high school won’t go to waste.

By the time you graduate from Mizzou, what are you hoping to accomplish? I hope to be as prepared for my intended career as I can! Probably accomplishing some awesome internship, job opportunity, etc. Basically, I hope to be like Julia Wopata.

Next on my reading list is… One of Stephen King’s books. I hate scary movies but I want to see how I like the novels.

What will you miss most while being away from home? My overweight Chihuahua, Snickers. My family also adopted a baby kitten right before I left, so I miss her a ton too.

What is your biggest guilty pleasure? The Bachelor in all of its many parts (The Bachelorette, Bachelor In Paradise).

Name: Holly Welker

Hometown: Festus, Missouri

Major: Undeclared Engineering

Tell us about your childhood/where you grew up.

The town I grew up in was so small that it didn’t have a city name! I technically live in unincorporated Jefferson County, not Festus as my mailing address leads you to believe. My school was called R-7 referring to its reorganized district number.

Why did you come to Mizzou?

A love for Mizzou runs in the family. My dad went to Mizzou for a year, and my sister is currently a senior here. I have been tailgating here for football games since before I can remember!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love going to the movies. No matter how much critical acclaim they receive (or don’t receive), I like to go see them and make my own review. When I lived at home, my mom and I would go to the movies every Sunday together!

Theta is…

A place where I can embrace who I am and discover who I am meant to be.

When I grow up I want to…

Have a successful career and a family.

The best friends are…

The ones you can go weeks without talking to, but pick up right where you left off when you see each other.

Tell us about your summer.

I actually had a pretty crazy summer this year. I went to Mykonos, Greece with my best friend Lara which involved lots of fun in the sun. This week was followed by a trip to Pag in Croatia, where I attended a music festival called Hideout which was basically just a whole week of non-stop dancing. Then I had to do something serious with my life so I had a month-long internship at EY which was an amazing experience and taught me a lot about accounting and also the professional business world. Then once that was finished I went on a big family holiday to Marbella, Spain which was so beautiful, the most amazing thing there was that we went on a boat trip one day and the sea was completely clear and calm and around the boat there were honestly around 20 dolphins. (If you ever want to see pics I have 10000s). Then I made my way to Mizzou!

If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

I would love to have dinner with James Cordon, I think he is the funniest person and I feel as though he would have so many stories to tell.

Tell us a few reasons why Theta became your new home.

Every time I walked into Theta I had a completely different conversation that actually made me think about things that were important to me. I also just felt so comfortable and at home there.

What is your dream job?

If I could have any job in the entire world I would love to be a talent scout. My favourite thing to do is to watch talented people perform. However I have absolutely no id

ea how you would become that and am definitely doing the wrong major so I think I would quite like to maybe work in insurance or become an investment banker.

The best song ever written is…?

Let's get together, Al Green.
